MR. ADJEINIM BOATENG ADJEI - Chief Executive of the Public Procurement Board

ALHAJI S. A. ABU-JAHJAH - Board Member

Alhaji S. A. Abu-Jajah is the Executive Chairman of Integrated Agro-Industry Ltd., Jasmedi Group Ltd. and Abujah Development Company Ltd.  He is also President of the Guan Congress, Chairman , Customary Land Secretariat (CLS) Management Board, Bole Traditional Area.

Alhaji Abu-Jajah is a Banker by profession.  He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers and Associate Member of International Accounts.

 

He has worked in the capacity of Accountant and Manager in the following Banks from 1970 – 1980: National Midland Bank; Ghana Commercial Bank, London  - Overseas Branch, Makola, Osu, Korle-Bu and the Head Office branches in Ghana.

 

He attended special courses, seminars and conferences on fertilizer production, procurement and application between 1993 & 1997, organized by the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC), an international body for soil fertility and agricultural development.  At one of such workshops on Soil Fertility Management Action Plan for Ghana in July 1996, he submitted a paper “Ghana Fertilizer Sector, Private Sector Perspective” which was co-authored by Mr. H. J. M. Wientjes.

 

He also served as Board Member, Northern Regional Development Corporation (NRDC) from 1979 -1981; a Member of the National Media Commission from 1992 – 1996.  He is currently The Board Chairman of Kanokoli Rural Bank and Vice Chairman of the Buwuuloso Rural Bank Board.  He has wide international experience in issues relating to contracts, tenders and procurement.  He is the Chairman of the Audit Report Implementation Committee of the Board.

 


Mrs Andan

MRS MARGARET ANDAN - Board Member

Mrs. Margaret Andan is an accomplished administrator with a comprehensive blend of hands-on professional and academic experience. She is a devoted educationist and an effective institutional manager.  She is the Vice President of Zenith College in charge of Administration.

 

Mrs. Andan holds a BA Degree in Geography from the University of Ghana, a Certificate in Procurement of Goods & Services from the Ghana Institute of Management & Administration (GIMPA) and a Teachers Certificate from Women’s Training College, Tamale.

 

She has  participated in several seminars and workshops in project management, the procurement of consultancy services, stores management, supplies & logistics management and procurement reform.  
  
Mrs. Margaret Andan previously served in various positions in the Ghana Education Service (GES) as the National Director, Secondary Education Division (2004 – 2005), National Director, Supplies & Logistics Division (1999 – 2004), National Coordinator, GES/World Food Program.  She was also Tutor & Vice Principal Girls Education Project, (1998 – 2005), Principal, Tamale Training College (1987 – 1997), Geography Tutor, Tamale Training College, (1977 – 1982) and Geography & Economics Tutor, Tamale Secondary School (1974 – 1977).

She has held memberships of several committees, including Finance & Administration Committee of West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) (2004-2005) and the NTTC Professional Board (1992-1997) and chaired the following committees:-

  • Technical Working Committee for Computerized Schools Selection & Placement System  (2004-2005)
  • Best Teacher Award Committee for SSS & Teacher Training College Category (2004-2008)
  • Northern Regional Advisory Board, National Council on Women & Development (1995-1997)
  • Ministerial Tender Review Committee - Ministry of Transportation (2004-2008

Mrs. Margaret Andan is a Member of the Ministerial Tender Review Committee, Ministry of Transportation and Chairperson of the Capacity Development/Human Resource (CD/HR) Committee of the Board, Public Procurement Authority.

 


 

MRS MANGOWA GHANNEY - Board Member

Mrs. Mangowa Ghanney is the Deputy Director of the Legal Affairs Division at the Ministry of Finance & Economic Planning .

She holds a Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) from the University of Ghana and a Master of Law Degree (LLM) from Temple University, Pennsylvania, USA.   She has been a member of the Ghana Bar Association since 1981, and is also licensed to practice law in the State of New York, USA.

 

Mrs. Ghanney has worked in both the USA and Ghana, and has several years of experience as a Company Lawyer, Legal Consultant and in regulatory compliance management.  One of her prime responsibilities at the Ministry of Finance is the supervision of Value for Money Audits on single sourced contracts under Ghana’s Procurement laws, which has achieved significant savings for the Government of Ghana.

MRS MAGDALENE APENTENG - Board Member

Mrs Magdalene Apenteng is currently Chief Economics Officer and        
Director of the Public Investment Division, of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. As Director for the Public Investment division, she is responsible for ensuring the provision of strategic guidance to national investment and project development to provide efficiency in public investment decisions.


Mrs Apenteng holds a Master’s degree (MSc.) in Financial Management from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London and a Master’s degree (MA) in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana, Department of Economics. She obtained her first degree - BA (Hons.) Economics with French from the University of Science & Technology, Department of Social Sciences, Kumasi, Ghana (1980 – 1985) and holds a language diploma - Diplomé d’études Françaises from the University of Benin, Lome, Togo.


Professionally she has specialised in aid and debt management techniques that enhance aid effectiveness.  Mrs Apenteng has extensive experience and has consulted for several organisations and countries in effective aid and debt management training and techniques including the Commonwealth Secretariat - UK, West African Institute for Economic and Financial Management (WAIFEM), Debt Relief International-UK, World bank,  Crown Agents –UK and  Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute in East and Southern Africa (MEFMI). She has also provided support and advisory services to countries including Cameroun, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Suriname, Guyana, Zambia, Uganda, the Gambia and Sierra Leone.

 

She served on the board of National Investment bank from July 1998 to August 2001 and was involved in the financial restructuring of City Express Company Ltd. and the Omnibus Services Limited from 1995 to 1999. Currently she also serves on the Board of Directors of SIC Life Limited.
