Selection Of A Consulting Firm For The Development Of Social Media Content And Organization And Management Of Food And Drugs Authority's Social Media Platforms

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has received funding from the United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID), and intends to apply part of the proceeds under a contract for the development of Social media content and organisation and management of Food and Drugs Authority's Social media platforms.

The Consulting services ("the Services") includes building and maintaining strong social media presence for the FDA as well as creating content for social media channels based on the information provided by the FDA. Communication and public education is a key function of FDA's mandate and the organisation seeks to use various communication media to reach its stakeholders. Social media enables information sharing within the various communities and allows for real time interaction, thus providing a powerful medium of communication that can be exploited by the FDA. The authority desires further strengthen its regulatory and compliance functions, with increased presence and interaction on key social media platforms. This will enable the FDA publicize content and information on policies and issues relating to food and drug regulation. The Consultant is expected to support the FDA to manage its online presence on social media platforms by generating interest and increasing following as well as design and implement active social media campaigns which addresses key messages of interest for the FDA in collaboration with FDA staff. The methodology shall include the development of social media content in various formats including text, images, video, audio etc. as part of social media campaigns based on specific themes/subjects as well as mapping of content and content type to social media channels for optimal impact. The overall duration of the assignment is expected to cover 12 months.

The Food and Drugs Authority now invites eligible consulting firms ("Consultants") who have significant expertise to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information stated below demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services as stated below:
1. A statement of capability detailing a pertinent history of the firm, core competencies, size of firm, as well as that of your workforce, highlighting their education and technical experience as it relates to your firm.
2. The general experience and specific experience of the firm in relation to this assignment including Clientele the past customers for whom your firm has done similar work.
3. The availability of appropriate skills among staff to undertake the assignment
4. Evidence of official incorporation of firm as well as Valid Tax Clearance, VAT and SSNIT Certificates.

Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub-consultancy to enhance their qualifications.
